The Freestyle 3 is a one of AirSep’s amazingly small and powerful portable oxygen concentrators. It’s amazing the amount of freedom it can give you. We rounded up some facts about the Freestyle 3 to help you decide if this one is right for you.

The Good

This amazingly small portable oxygen concentrator from AirSep can deliver the pulse dose equivalent of 3 LPM (liters per minute) on its highest setting. This is an amazing oxygen capacity for such a small concentrator. The Freestyle 3 is only 4.4 lbs by itself, as there are no batteries that you will need to take out or replace, and runs on a rechargeable internal battery. Another exceptional thing about the Freestyle 3 is the life of the battery, which will last as long as 3.5 hours on the lowest setting, and 2 hours on the highest setting.

The Bad

Like many other portable models below 5 lbs, the Freestyle 3 lacks the oxygen conservation needed by some patients, whose breath rate may rise and the Freestyle 3 cannot catch up to maintain the same oxygen saturation. This portable oxygen concentrator is not for those patients.

The Bottom Line

The Freestyle 3 is perfect for those who need the equivalent of 3 LPM to meet their oxygen needs, who need to use their oxygen therapy for most hours out of the day, or constantly because the battery life is one of the best of the small oxygen concentrators. If you need even more battery life while staying completely mobile, you can add the supplemental AirSep AirBelt, which is only 2 lbs and can be worn discreetly around the waist, or the 1 lb AirSep External Battery can be plugged into it as well. You will not need a mobile cart, just the carry case, which is adjustable and lightweight. This concentrator is appoved by the FAA for use on a flight.
